1997 to Dec 2000 C. Weiss Boat was named CALIENTE and in the process of being prepared to compete in the Newport-Bermuda 2000. Sometime in early June, the boat was on the hard, with the mast up, at Brewer's Glen Cove when a wind storm blew the boat over. Owner convinces insurance company to total the boat, setting the boat up for sale to the next owner.
Jan 2001 to May 2002 M. Lusk After CALIENTE was repaired, owner had some additional work performed at Brewer's Glen Cove. In Feb 2001, owner and some friends took the boat out of the yard in the middle of the night without paying the yard bill. In late April 2002, delivery crew was off Cape Hatteras in the middle of a gale and abandoned the boat because of the conditions. NTM issued and vessel left adrift.
June 2002 to November 2003 S. Knapp/US District Court SIMBA came upon CALIENTE in the Gulf Stream after SIMBA completed the Newport-Bermuda 2002. SIMBA's owner salvaged CALIENTE and initiated negotitations with M. Lusk, which eventually broke down. CALIENTE was hauled at Brewer's Pilots Point, where it remained until the court orders selling it were signed and delivered.
November 2003 to present P. & G. Hammar Boat renamed to PHOENIX and transported to Great Bay Marine in New Hampshire for refit.

2004 01 02: Major clean-up commences

2004 01 10: Engine electrical system disconnected

2004 01 19: Engine removed for rebuild
